About SVC

C. Todd Smith

Todd is a practicing personal injury attorney in Orlando, Florida. He earned his law degree from the Cumberland School of Law in 1994 and began his career as a public defender where he gained valuable trial experience. After many years in private practice, Todd narrowed his scope of work to personal injury and wrongful death cases where he only represents plaintiffs. Todd is passionate about protecting our jury system and believes that jury selection and jury vetting is an essential component to zealous advocacy. Recently Todd served as the Governor of the Florida District of Kiwanis International, and he remains active serving the needs of youth in Central Florida.

Shawn Vincent

Shawn first started working for law firms as a digital communications consultant. He has managed media interest for many high-profile criminal and civil cases. Jury Vetting grew out of the need to qualify jurors in criminal cases where knowledge of trial publicity was a factor. He refined the Jury Vetting process while working on murder cases for a indigent defense organization. After dozens of trials he began applying the process to high-stakes civil litigation. He earned an English degree from Rollins College and applies critical communications theory to connecting jurors with trial themes.

Our Jury Vetting Team

We recruit our Jury Vetters slowly and carefully. Each member of our team was recruited by a current, trusted member of our team, and has been specifically recommend and vouched for.

New Jury Vetter’s are trained thoroughly before their first trial. Our newest Vetters serve as the fifth or sixth team member on their fist trials, so we know their skill level before we depend on them.

Many of our Vetter’s are J.D. candidates. Every law student who has worked with us has used us as a reference for their bar application, and their aspirations for a license to practice law make them particularly trustworthy team members.

We have found that students pursuing law as a second career bring added experience and maturity to the jury vetting process. Many of our Vetter’s are honorably discharged or serving members of the military.

A licensed fraud investigator helps insure the quality and integrity of every investigation we perform. Our founder C. Todd Smith is a practicing personal injury attorney, and Shawn Vincent is a seasoned litigation consultant.
